145: Hahaha. I had a reason for imagining it the way I did -- the scene was set after the botched Hima assassination, so I figured Yuan would still be curled around the wound Kratos gave him, like he was at the moment when he teleported out of Hima. Y'know. I wouldn't know about the OVA, but the way you describe it -- I think it's better I haven't seen the episode, because I doubt the actual animation would stand up to the image I now have in mind. XD


147: Yeah, that's what I'd like to write about. The story the snippet is from was far more innocent; like, if someone was taking opioids for no reason except to get high, then that would obviously be drug abuse. But if someone was taking them for pain management because the "softer" stuff just didn't fucking work, then most people probably wouldn't have a real problem with it. That was the case in the original story -- only Yuan wasn't exactly convinced Botta was really in so much pain that it would warrant using drugs that potent. (They had been estranged for some time, so Yuan wasn't aware of the severity of the situation.) I wrote it years back, when I was even less confident in my ability to write believably about the (ab)use of drugs than I am now -- and also, I wasn't willing to tackle such a sensitive topic because I had no way of knowing how that would go over with the few people willing to read my stories. Pandering? Perhaps, but whatever the case, I was really ill at ease with writing about a topic so alien to me. Now that you seem interested in it, though... who knows. XD Although I think that if I were to write such a story, Yuan would be the one with the abuse problem. Because, face it, he's more than 4000 years old. He's been through at least one war, he lost his fiancée, he's been part of the messed-up faction who founded the religion almost every poor sod now believes in except for him and the rest of Cruxis because they know it's a total scam. Even though he opposes what Cruxis stands for, he can't openly contest it and he can't very well leave either. I figure the Renegades can't have been around for much longer than 800 years, if even that long. So what did Yuan do all those millennia before it? I doubt *I* would have stayed sane and not turned to drugs in all that time. So there's one opening for that kind of story, but it doesn't interest me in the way that I would devote an entire story to describing it. It might make for an interesting backstory, though. Maybe that'd be why he's so pissed someone he feels close to has turned to drugs? Because he's been through that wringer himself? Damn it. Plotbunnies. ;_; I don't need those! Last year, I didn't have a clue what to write about for my NaNo. This year, I already have ideas for both Camp NaNoWriMos, and more ideas just keep pouring in. At this rate, I'll have a hard time choosing what to write about for the "actual" November NaNo. o_o; Well, I'll let this idea simmer for now. I'm sure as hell not going to write about something like this for any NaNo because it's going to take a lot of time to research everything, even if you were to help. I mean, yeah, I've already done quite a bit of research over the years out of curiosity, but nowhere near enough to be able to write about drug use accurately. I'll... think about it. Thanks.
